June 11 in the UK (Leeds) was the stage of the World Series of Triathlon, which won the host of the competition, Alistair Brownlee and Flora Duffy from Bermuda. At the prize places, Jonathan Brownlee from the UK and Spaniard Fernando Alarza, and women Taylor Spivey from the United States and Italian Alice Betto.
A large group emerged from the men, but the bike race began non-standard. A steep climb from the transit zone stretched the group. And from the first meters of the distance the Brothers Brownlee left to break away, which successfully increased the advantage over the pursuers and played a victory among themselves. In the second group, Spaniard Fernando Alarza, Thomas Bishop and Adam Bowden from Great Britain fled. But the hosts of the competition could not compete with the Spaniard, who won the third place, and finished in the top 5. In the top 10 race, Norwegian Kristian Blummenfelt, Portuguese Joao Silva, Frenchman Pierre Le Corre, Spaniard Vincent Hernendez and Frenchman Vincent Luis finished.
Jessica Learmonth, the hostess of the competition, finished the women first, but on the bike race she was caught by five pursuers and a group of leaders from six participants gathered. Through a series of steep hills on the bike, the group of leaders left four participants - Flora Duffy, Taylor Spivey, Alice Betto and Maya Kingma from Holland. The leaders were pursued by a group of six participants, among whom were Kirsten Kasper, Natalie Van Coevarden, Juri Ide and Taylor Knibb. But the leaders did not manage to catch up and the prizes were played by the leaders. At the race there was no equal to Flora Duffy, who won the race. Taylor Spivey was the first of the losers, - finished second. And Alice Betto came in third. In the top 5 Kirsten Kasper from the USA and Japanese Ai Ueda finished. In the top 10 race, Gillian Backhouse from Australia, ex-race leader, race hostess Jessica Learmonth, Australian representative Ashleigh Gentle, Charlotte McShane, finished the race. Top-10 closes Juri Ide from Japan.
