April 8 in Australia, was the second phase of the World Series of Triathlon, which won the Spaniard Mario Mola and Andrea Hewitt from New Zealand. At the prize places Richard Murray from South Africa and the Spaniard Fernando Alarza, while the women Ashleigh Gentle from Australia and Japanese Juri Ide.
In women, the leader after the first stage was the Spaniard Carolina Routier, who was caught by the pursuers and formed a group of ten participants ahead. In the middle of the bicycle phase of the leaders, the pursuers caught up and formed a large pelaton. Running stage began a large group. The leaders went to Andrea Hewitt, who won the race. Prize-winning places were played by Ashleigh Gentle and Juri Ide. Immediately after them a large group of athletes finished. In the top 10 race, Katie Zaferes and Renee Tomlin from the USA, Charlotte McShane from Australia, Kirsten Casper from the USA, Ai Ueda from Japan, Gillian Sanders from South Africa and the Czech Vendula Frintova finished the race.
In men, in the first transit zone led a large group of South African Henri Schoeman. On the bicycle race a large pelaton was formed. Unfortunately there was a blockage in the group due to which the race was left by five participants. Among them were Tamas Toth, Matthew Sharp and Andrea Salvisberg. From the group, a successful attempt to break away was made by South African Ryan Fisher. Who won a pelican for 18 seconds. At the running stage, the situation changed and the leaders were a group of five participants - the Spaniards, Mario Mola. Javier Gomez and Fernando Alarza, South African Richard Murray and Australian Jacob Birtwhistle. Closer to the finish, the Australian fell behind, and the victory was played by Mola and Murray. Third place in Fernando Alarza, and Javier Gomez became the fourth. The fifth place was held by the host of competitions - Jacob Birtwhistle. In the top 10, Australian Luke Willian, Ryan Sissons from New Zealand, South Africans Henri Schoeman and Wian Sullwald, Shachar Saghiv from Israel finished.
