July 28-29 in Canada (Edmonton) was the stage of the World Series of Triathlon, which won the Spaniard Mario Mola and Flora Duffy from Bermuda. At the prizes, the Australian Jacob Birtwistle and Richard Murray from South Africa, and the women of the US representative are Taylor Knibb and Katie Zaferes.
In the first female, Summer Cook graduated from the United States. But on the bike race in the lead went Flora Duffy and Taylor Knibb. The group of persecutors lost to leaders for more than one minute. Flora attacked an American woman and left for a solitary break. Victory is gained by Flora Duffy. Taylor Knibb lost to the leader one minute at the finish. And for the third place fought at once six women, among which the fastest was Katie Zaferes! Summer Cook from the USA and Jolanda Annen from Switzerland in the top 5. In the top 10 finished Rachel Klamer from Holland, Joanna Bown from Canada, Yuka Sato from Japan and the US representative - Kirsten Kasper and Chelsea Burns.
At men the best time in the first stage was shown by Richard Varga from Slovakia. A large group of leaders gathered in the bike race and over thirty men came to the transit zone. On the run the leaders were the Spaniards Mario Mola and Javier Gomez, Jonathan Brownlee from the UK and Richard Murray from South Africa. A group of leaders overtook and came out ahead of the Australian Jacob Birtwistle. The tempo of the Australian was supported by Mario Mola and Richard Murray. Unfortunately Jacob made a mistake with a turn and ran on another road. He was caught by the pursuers. Closer to the finish line came the Spaniard, who won the race. Jacob Birtwistle finishes second, and Richard Murray becomes the winner of the race. Joanathan Brownley could not climb to the podium of the race and finished fourth. In the top 10 race, Rafael Montoya from France, Javier Gomez, Pierre Lee Corr of France, Christian Blummenfelt from Norway, Fernando Alarza from Spain and Grant Sheldon from the UK completed the race.
